Our History: A Legacy of Faithful Education

Our Humble Beginnings In 1977, a small group of dedicated parents in Warren County sought an alternative, faith-based education for their children. Their vision gave birth to the Warren County Christian School (WCCS). Initially, WCCS operated with just two teachers and 18 students, holding classes at the Saron Lutheran Church in Youngsville. Driven by a shared commitment, parents took on vital roles as bus drivers, janitors, cooks, and servers—all on a volunteer basis. They cleaned classrooms weekly, transported students to the YMCA for gym classes, and launched the first hot lunch program. Growth and Expansion The following year saw such a significant increase in enrollment that new facilities were needed. In response, WCCS moved to the old Meadowbrook Dairy building on Lookout Street in Warren, offering education from Kindergarten through 8th grade. By 1981, continued growth necessitated yet another move, this time to the Garland Farms dairy barn in Youngsville. The school marked a milestone in 1982 with its first graduation ceremony, where two seniors received their diplomas. That same year, James Bodamer joined as WCCS's first principal and administrator. Under his leadership, the school flourished, expanding to include: 13 full-time instructors and three part-time specialists A science lab facility Foreign language instruction Business courses A computer instruction program Home economics Art and music classes An athletics program Our Current Programs Today, our Elementary and Secondary students benefit from a robust curriculum that includes phonics, penmanship (including cursive), all the way up to Spanish Language course, and technology courses. You can check out our brochure for a list of the current courses. Our Unchanging Mission Despite the many changes and expansions over the years, our mission remains steadfast. We are here to honor Christ by providing quality education in a Christ-centered environment. Our aim is to enable our students to experience a God-ordained, abundant life. Our Vision for the Future Our vision is to graduate young leaders who are trained and disciplined to think and work productively. We foster wholesome relationships and integrate our students into the family of believers to impact their church, community, and the world for Christ. Thank you for being part of our enduring legacy. Together, we continue to uphold a tradition of excellence rooted in faith.
